GEM provides a new generation of small-scale wind energy systems designed specifically for the UK’s climate and growing demand for decentralised renewable power. Our 1 kW wind turbine is engineered to perform efficiently in the lower wind speeds typical across much of the UK, helping households and rural businesses generate their own clean electricity.

With an estimated annual energy output of around 2,000 kWh, our system can significantly offset electricity consumption while reducing reliance on unstable energy markets. The turbine is connected to a smart battery-based off-grid system, allowing users to store and use their own renewable power whenever they need it.

At the heart of our design is a ducted turbine structure, which improves aerodynamic performance while also acting as a natural noise barrier. Combined with advanced blade tip turbulence control and composite materials, the system operates quietly, efficiently, and with minimal maintenance requirements.

Our turbines are built with simplicity in mind. Installation is designed to be fast and modular—similar to assembling an IKEA product—making deployment easier and more cost-effective. Customers also benefit from a smart monitoring app that provides real-time performance insights, diagnostics, and maintenance alerts.

GEM’s solutions are particularly suited for farms, caravan and camping sites, off-grid homes, and rural businesses—locations where energy costs can be high and grid access limited. By generating power locally, users gain greater energy independence, lower electricity bills, and a measurable reduction in carbon emissions.

We support our customers throughout the entire lifecycle of the system. Each installation begins with a pre-purchase site assessment to ensure optimal turbine performance. Systems are installed by certified partners and supported through ongoing monitoring and after-sales services to ensure long-term reliability.

Our technology development is backed by strong collaboration with the University of Manchester, from early market validation through to wind tunnel testing and performance optimisation. This partnership allows GEM to combine scientific research with practical engineering, delivering a robust renewable energy solution built for real-world conditions.

By unlocking the potential of small-scale wind power, GEM is helping rural communities and businesses take control of their energy while contributing to a cleaner and more resilient energy system.
